BLACK AND WHITE CALYPSO BEAN-

This rare heirloom bean has survived many hardships. It is half-white and half-black with distinctive sharp boundaries that curve around the bean. Blends well with fresh corn. Also called "Ying Yang". One of the all time best for baking and soups. Strong 15" plants, round black and white seeds with contrasting eye. Averages 4-5 seeds per pod.  Bush bean 70-90 days.

BUTTERSCOTCH BEAN-

are white with a big light brown spot around the eye. They date back to 1860's in New England, used for "Boston Baked Beans". Preferred for "Hoppin' John" in the South. Bush Bean


MAYFLOWER BEAN-

Brought over on the Mayflower in 1620, followed by a long history of being circulated in the Carolina's. Cut short-type, which are prized for great flavor, despite strings. Short pods are packed with small square seeds. Very productive, and good as a dry bean.  This heirloom bean has a round shape with striking red color. Ideal for relish, salads and salsa. Pole bean. 100 days.

PAINTED PONY BEAN-

A great dual-purpose bean. This small bean comes from America. It is an unusual bean,  brown over white with a distinctive white eye. Great taste, long thin pods are string less and good for snap beans. One of the best for soups retains markings. Very productive. Bush bean. 60 days for snaps, 80 days for dry beans.

ALL AMERICAN PARSNIP-

Earlier and taller topped than Hollow Crown. Broad shouldered, white, tender, fleshy root averages 10”-12” long and 3” thick. Cover with straw and harvest throughout the winter for sweetest, nuttiest flavor. 105 days.

YOLO WONDER PEPPER-

Firm, thick walls on blocky mostly four, lobed fruits. Fruits start out dark-green and mature to bright-red.  70-75 days.

CUBANELLE SWEET FRYER PEPPER-

An early and productive thin-walled fryer.  Peppers are yellow-green turning to red-orange and measure 5” x 2”. Sweet and smooth. 70 days.

PURPLE PLUM RADISH-

JACKSON WONDER BEAN-

Buttery tasting bush lima or butterbean with 3“ dark-green pods containing 3 to 5 seeds per pod. Seeds are buff colored with purple and black mottling.  Heat and drought tolerant.  Popular in Georgia in the 1880’s.  65 days

WALTHAM BUTTERNUT SQUASH-

Heirloom -The most popular commercially grown butternut, setting the standard with a sweet, nutty flavor. Tan-skinned fruits are 8” long, blocky and have a small bulbous seed cavity. Excellent baked, steamed or micro-waved, and stores well. 92 days.

BLACK BEAUTY ZUCCHINI-

Fruit is green with grayish-black tone. Blocky, smoothly bulb with open plant habit. Fruit should be picked when 6 1/2”-7” long. 56 days.

COCOZELLE ZUCCHINI-

These fruits are thinner than other summer squash; 8” long x 1 1/2” diameter. Bushy plants yield plentiful light and dark-green, striped fruit. 50 days.

Heirloom- Low growing, bushy plant produces a butter-yellow 8” long fruit with bulbous seed cavity and thin curving neck. Skin may be bumpy. Turns darker yellow as it gets larger. 42 days.

Heirloom.-The large, white roots of this good keeper have purple shoulders and a small taproot. Mild white flesh is best if picked when 3” across. Crisp flavor and sturdy tops. Grows quickly. 55 days.
